Very attractive color and pattern! That one of those east Texas/West Louisiana Bull-Pines?

I agree, bull/pine, too much clear pattern on the anterior, but very nice looking snake.

I love how you can allow your snakes free range in your room. I guess you have to time the out of cage time with when they ate last, so as to not find little "deposits" in wrong places! LOL!

Good question, I try my best but "stuff" happens. A good peroxide based carpet cleaner works really well. Being as I'm in the space a lot, it stays pretty clean. I really enjoy seeing how they choose and interact with a varied array of environmental factors. ...adds a big dimension to the experience.

That's a beautiful snake. Kind of looks like a king rat to me.

tortlemon Mar 13, 2011 12:26 PM

Looks like it may be a really nice La. Pine

Help us out here , what is it?

Hey all, thanks for the interest. At first I didn't see any replies and it got lost in the mix.

Thought most of you might have seen me post that animal before and know the story...

I bought it as an LA Pine and have since learned a whole lot about that species. It is a superb animal but given what I've learned and understand, it is likely progeny of a cross. What I cannot imagine as I've never seen that high yellow on any other pit.

There is a complex history to the origins of this species in the hobby. Lot's of twists and turns and unless you've caught it yourself, there's no perfect certainty.

Thanks I think so too. He's a great pet. Super tame and robust. Possibly a good example of what is termed "hybrid vigor".
