Burrowing Gecko????

dubumb Sep 28, 2003 12:30 PM

Hi,
I've recently made my geckos a nice big humid hide box that is an old plastic shoe box that i cleaned out real good and put a nice big hole for them to climb in. They seem to like it, and they seem to really like that i am using sphagnum moss instead of wet paper towels now... i guess it's just more fun. BUT i noticed my smallest gecko actually burrows under the moss in the box. Does this sound abnormal?

The cage temp ranges from 84-87 during the day incase that question arrouses.

Thanks.

If the geckos are all in one container, it may also be that the smallest is getting very stressed. Sometimes several in a tank works fine for awhile but then one goes off feed. Is the little one eating well? If not, I'd suggest separating him until he grows as large as the others.
Good luck!
