They are affordable, pretty easy, and we've had good results.

Of course I don't think I can get it high enough for males unless I use two heaters maybe.
My temps do go up and down but I have 5 healthy babies and two more eggs on the incubator.
I had an extra ten gallon tank so it only cost me $12 for the tank heater. Of course I am not a large breeder. I just bred to give offspring to family and friends that wanted them.
