ceniceros Mar 17, 2011 10:13 AM

Heres a couple of peru boas i produced in 2010 one of my males that i am keeping turned black after one shed. What do u guys think? I doubt it was a toxic mouse. His sister is pictured next to him also and he used to be the same color as her.

Maybe he's feeling blue...lol. Nice either way. By the way Richard, who do you think is going to win Jones or Rua? I honestly dont know. If I had to put money on it I'd say Rua by TKO in the third.

Dang thats a toss up... Ive always said Jon Jones is the future of the lightheavyweight Division but i have been a fan of shogun since the pride days. Flip a coin but i hope Rua keeps his belt.

Heres a photo of me an Jon Jones in anaheim about 6 months ago.

Totally with you guys- that cut under brock's eye was GNARLY on TV, I can't imagine live, would have like to see that big useless lug get put away- As far as Jones goes, his elbows are like steel pipes, but Rua can find away around....either way some real pros at the top of the sport

My "Blue Moon" line Central Ams wait until after 1 yr of age to lose reds/gain blue-blacks (some looking IMG as adults). I have a small adult female "black Peruvian" that's been courted by my Berry line het pewter...I've got my fingers crossed! Will they eventually (as homozygous black-bloods) be Halloween colored, Purple, or???? I think the polygenic and ontogenetic "melanos" have been under used in projects with morphs in the past.

This was from 1 shed to the next.

That's how my IMG-type "Blue Moon" line Central American changed, but he was over a year old. One day the color of a pastel Colombian, next day after shedding was dark purple-black (he became more hypo-erythristic over the next few sheds and looked more blue-black instead of purple). His offspring will also be going into my high-purple and blood combo lines

That IS crazy but really cool looking, too!
Thanks for posting and keep us posted!

I don't know about the dark one, but the sister looks hawt.

I'd love to see what she looks like after her first year

it looks like there is some additional color abnormality going on right as the saddles go into the tail, some white interesting white speckling- I am wondering if the sex plays any factor, did any other males from that litter have any color change in any way, not necessarily black color, but anything "paradoxical" or different? I am in no way an expert- it's just a thought

Nope the rest of the litter was normal.

This is what he used to look like and then 1 shed later turned black.

Now that would appear to be a Hyper - Melanistic Pucallpa Boa

Very interesting , it will be fun to watch this one develop !

I don't know what caused the color change, but I want both of them! Those are both gorgeous keepers.
