i have noticed that if i feed rats for a while then have to feed a mose the next poop is a little loose. i have also noticed that sometimes my younger balls tend to poop then crawl all through it for no real reason. i have come home only to find crap on the roof of the cage and on the walls. did it smell different or did it have any mucus in it. that would cause me concern, but just a softer stool with some crazy activity shouldnt be of any alarm. just my thoughts.

...You should also check your temps to make sure it's not too warm-excessive heat may cause a spontaneous loose stool. As you've done, a good sanitizing following by a 5-7 day rest, followed by feeding a small meal, would be a safe course of action, ASSUMING you've kept its cage VERY clean with clean fresh water prior to this episode. Snakes rarely come down with enteritis unless they have been fed spoiled food (ie, old frozen food) or been kept in filthy conditions, sub-optimal heat, etc.
I suspect this episode had something to do with the quality of the last meal. If you correct everything, feed it a good quality food item (remember, a smallish meal) and it does this again, THEN vet attention (besides this) probably is in order. Good luck. Scott J. Michaels DVM
