Hey i got home from owkr and my mom had captured this little turtle on the side walk. I have neber seen one like this, i think it would possible be a snapping turtle? Maybe a wood turle? (as you can tell from my guesses i have no clue, i frequent the dart frog forum).

Heres a picture, Sorry i couldnt get one any better, its a 5MP camera but i ont have any close up lenses yet That is a nickle beside the turtle to give a idea of his size.

I am outside of charleston, WV. The kanawha river is like 2 blocks down from me (if i was a turtle i wouldnt want to live in it).

The turtle seems to have a decent size "snot" the tail is probibly 1 1/2" long. The shell is really textured, it is raised high in the middle and on the left and right hand side there is a strip of raised shell with a lot of texture.

If any one knows what this turtle is please tell me. I might keep him. if not ill take him to a local fishing lake (if aquatic) or take him out in the woods and release him so he might stand a better chance of not coming into contact with humans again.

thanks!
