Virginia exotics laws?

boredfoot Mar 24, 2011 08:05 AM

Does anyone know what Virginia's laws are regarding keeping non-native species such as small pythons? There's a chance our family might be moving to Virginia, and I want to make sure I don't violate any laws by bringing my collection (two bloods, a ball and a woma) across state lines.

Any information would be GREATLY appreciated!

Thanks!

Hi, saw that noone answered this post so I suppose I will. I lived in Virginia most of my life, moved 8 years ago though to Florida. It is a Commonwealth state so each County has its own laws on these things. You will need to check your county laws to see if there is anything on the books. In some places in Virginia its fine to have venomous others have more strict codes. Im pretty sure thats the way it still is.
