Anatomy question

I saw this vertical slit on my Japanese Ratsnake and i don't remember seeing anything similar on my other snakes. Does anyone know what it is? I bet the answer is probably obvious, but i'm at a loss for it. You can't see it in the picture, but the anal scale is towards the bottom. Thank you.

That is where the umbilical cord attaches to the embryo within the egg.
