Im posting these 2 snakes on behalf of a mate.
I understand a lot about Epicrates but not much about all the little things about BCI's.
First, is this the average head colour for a Kahl albino? It was imported from the US 18months back, as a normal Kahl albino. It looks somewhat Coral in our eyes. How does the Coral work, is it a polygenic trait, line bred or?

And this boa, it was picked up as a sub adult normal. But looks a lot different to the other normals in his collection. Is this just a nice variation, or something else?

thanks for any help or advice that you guys can give
cheers

everyone has an opinion and I'll give mine..
far above a normal albino...and top quailty animals will help in reproducing the coralish color...and the normal is better than average as well...and could be a het.
sweet boas.best of luck with them.

thanks tibor for your response.
Yes this albino is certainly a looker, whether a coral or not.
As for the normal, i very much doubt its a het. There are very few visuals morphs,
where i live, especially of breeding age. But i do think it has a somewhat unique look to it, at least for us.

Very nice Albino, that I'd call a Coral . Many sellers here in the USA produce babies from coral lines and sell all of the Albinos as "corals , no matter what they look like . To me its false advertisment as you will get some that develope coral colors , and some that don't . It work just as any colorful boa thats bred - some get color and some don't . Your normal is nice too.

When it comes to picking a snake of any kind, I always like to know as much of the snakes pedigree as I can. Then you have a good idea of whats possible for your boas offspring! Selective breeding is a must also on obtaining optimal results. The Boaphile has a great way of sharing this outlook I have FYI.

VolcomHerp, i too like to know as much about a snakes pedigree as possible, and i do this with the majority of my own animals. I have spent a lot of cash, on certain Epicrates, and in the majority of cases can trace the linage back many generations.
If you read my original post, i stated that these wernt my own snakes, and that i was just trying to gauge an opinion for a mate.
I did import this albino for him however, and it was purchased as a simple kahl albino. With the colour that it has now, we were just wondering if its is classed as a coral albino, and what are the exact genetics behind the coral lines. I have done my research on it, but did not come up with a definitive answer.
As for the normal, this wasnt a (is this snake a new quad morph we found at a pet store), it was a simple question that it looks different to his other normal boas, and we wanted to know, if this was just a normal variation of a normal boa.

Ah its all good. I probably went a little overboard on my reply
Im not so into the the finnish metal scene, although im a big fan of HIM and 69 eyes.
Although im not sure exactly what Genre you would put them in, i did a photoshoot with Lordi last year, for their Babez for Breakfast album. So a lot of my rainbows, and a mates boa were featured in certain aspects of the album booklet, calenders etc etc. Was certainly an experience. If youve never heard of Lordi, youtube Hard Rock Hallelujah which i guess was their biggest song.

HIM is Doom Metal/Love Metal. Ville Valo is an amazing song writer and great vocalist. Lordi is like GWAR from the US but Lordi has more a 1980's rock theme to their style. Man I wish I could visit your place some day.

haven't heard of the 69 eye's better check them out. Thanks

brick1 Mar 25, 2011 08:47 PM

youtube 69eyes Lost Boys, one of their bigger songs
they do a lot of concerts with HIM
Both bands are very big in finland, but i think have had a lot of help
from Bam Margera to launch into the lucrative US market.

I saw the 69eyes doing an acoustic set in a 50 sqm venue last year, followed 30mins later by a HIM concert. I dont go to many concerts, but it was a night i will never forget!!! Finland has its plusses sometimes, although it is still snowing here......
