2011 zonata pairings (Part 1)

zonatahunt Mar 25, 2011 03:36 PM

Hey all,

I thought I'd share with you most of the pairings I'm doing this year with my zonata. All the females in photos paired with a male currently have follicles and have bred at least two times.

This is a pair of Diablo mtn kings. It's the first breeding for both of them. She has eight follicles in her and is swelling fast.

Here's a rippin' pair of black-and-white Sierra snakes. These start off tricolored, but lose their purple-grey (instead of red) as they mature. Females lose almost all their purple-grey color, while males tend to keep a little bit. She has fourteen follicles right now!!! Hoping for fourteen black-and-whites if all the eggs are good!

My pair of Tuolumne Co. Sierra snakes. The male truly does have yellow bands instead of white, and the female is leaning that way too. Nine follicles for her.

I also have a little pair of Mt. Saint Helena zonata. The girl is perfect, while the male has some black. She has six follicles.

I have a gorgeous pair of Santa Barbara zonata. The female double-clutched last year and definitely has the body mass to do so again. Her follicles are to undeveloped to count right now.

This is a young pair of coast zonata. This will be her first year. Currently six follicles.

I will follow-up this post with the remaining pairings I'm planning and some info regarding the GIFTING of hatchlings!
