"Truth" My Tiger is little, so what!

mikebell Mar 26, 2011 02:20 PM

My Tiger is little, in fact he is still just a "Cub", but it doesn't seem to matter. I got him at the expo when he was only about 50gr, I was told at the time that deserts "hatch small". He was and still is a chow hound, now weighing a little over 400gr. I'm breeding once a week and he eats every week. He has bred with two citrus pastel yellow bellies, a citrus pastel, and a super vanilla. Once he started breeding, he has bred every female he has been with.

Honestly, I think this small morph thing will blow over once they are bred to other morphs.
Heck, there are females that get genetically HUGE out there. Breed a desert male to a couple of them, problem solved.

That's awesome Mike - can't wait to see the results! From my own experience, I'm just not seeing the Deserts are smaller thing at all. My original 08 Desert male from PE was over 1000 grams at a year of age. Last year he was an amazing breeder, and we produced LOTS of baby Deserts. At hatching they averaged at least normal size, and the holdbacks I still have are great feeders and are some of my largest 2010 babies. My late July hatched 2010 Desert Bumblebee male is over 800 grams and is, at this very moment, locked up with my largest female (over 5000 grams!).
Best of luck with your Desert stuff.

Sooo... what happened to the other thread?

snakesss Mar 27, 2011 10:03 AM

This is exactly what I was wondering. What happened to it? I saw it was started last night but had to leave, I come back this morning and it is gone??

I never comment on the forum, but I do read a lot. The "truth" threads have been some of the most interesting threads I have seen in a long time. By interesting, I mean seeing how the industry works as people point and counterpoint opinions.

I don't know anything about the "TRUTH" person, he/she could be spot on with their comments or completely malicious... I don't know. I have enjoy seeing the herp community "discuss" things.

So why is the thread gone?? Was a Kingsnake rule broken? I don't know. Anybody shed any light on what happened. Is this a case of him/her breaking forum rules or is he/she just being silenced?

Just curious
Robert
