Northern Green Rats mating!

tbrock Mar 26, 2011 08:35 PM

I caught my adult pair of Santa Ritas Green Rats locked up this afternoon, and disturbed them for a couple pics. They disengaged while I was attempting to photograph them, but I believe they went right back to it after I left them alone.

Thanks Ryan!

I went back and looked at notes from last year's breeding, and there is no way for me to pin down even an approximate gestation period. I started pairing them up probably about the same time last year, and noticed the female looking gravid in late May. She laid her eggs on June 20th...

I can tell you to expect an incubation period of 88 - 100 days...
