Homestead Reptile Farm Site Of SRT Standoff

HOMESTEAD (CBS4) — A Special Response Team from the Miami-Dade Police Department has surrounded a Homestead home following reports of a person who has barricaded himself inside, possibly armed with a gun.

The home is located at 35000 SW 212th Avenue. According to an online search, the home belongs to reptile dealer Tom Crutchfield.

In video from Chopper 4, there are numerous cages and sheds lined up side-by-side that match the description on Crutchfield’s website as being reptiles cages and reptile houses.

SRT members could be seen moving closer to the home on an armored vehicle.

Miami-Dade police said rescue personnel had treated one person who had been shot.

The cause of the standoff is unknown.

Are you referring to me or to Bruce (May god bless his soul if the previous post is correct) or whom?

Neither one. Don't worry about it, Hugh. It's a tragic and unfortunate situation. I would never make a derogatory comment about those directly involved. My sympathy and prayers go to those effected.

THE LOSS OF OUR BELOVED FRIEND BRUCE STEPHENSON 1960-2011
I am on here to thank all of our friends for their kind words and please pray for us! we are greiving the death of a VERY BELOVED FRIEND AND BUSINESS PARTNER. Bruce was mentally ill and has finally found his peace, now we need to find ours so I am BEGGING anybody who doesnt have anything nice to say please DO NOT say anything at all. You are all on here as FRIENDS and if I see one negative anything you will not be. Bruce took his life and has rendered us pretty much homeless due to the SWAT TEAM and we have to rebuild our home, our hearts, and our lives from the ground up. I appreciate all the love from our true FRIENDS and family. Thank you we need more time before we can go more public. Sorry, but we need time. Patty
