Well, a couple days ago I put my male pyro in the mouse barn to get him away from any female pheromones. I had put a large live pinkie in with him but he showed no interest. He hadn't eaten since February 22 and then had two long runs with my females, which used his stores and made him thin. Today I said what the devil, and lanced a pinkie's head and poked Mazar's snout into the wound, smearing blood and brain on his snout. Then I put him in a feeding jar with that pink and went away for about 10 minutes. He ate that pink. Finally. He will be kept in the mouse barn until he fattens back up.
I do this blood and brains trick with little baby snakes but this is the first time I have done this with an adult.
