Hypo and hybino prairie kingsnakes

JKruse Apr 03, 2011 10:43 AM

Wanted to share something other than zonata that I'm enjoying working with. Although I'm not much of a genetic morph, I do like hypo snakes and the hybino female was an added perk in the group. All females are gravid, and it's nice to work with calligaster again after many years of not having them. My apologies on the crappy pics -- I've lent my brother-in-law my camera for his vacation, so cell phone pics are what I'm left with for now.

Hey Jerry!!!!
Those look cool!!!! Calligaster are one of those lesser appreciated species that deserve a broader following. Good luck with the gravid females!!! Keep us up to date on the results!!!

No, but I used to have a fine pair of striped albinos circa 1995 that were incredible. Prairie kings are just great snakes to work with, and I've missed doing so. But to have the hypo prairies are an even greater treat......I see eggs dropping in the next few weeks and all females are seriously gravid. Woop!

Jerry those are some really nice looking Hypo's! Good Luck on the eggs and hatchlings! Post some pics of the hatchlings when the finally emerge for their first photo shoot.

Those Hypos/Hybinos would look really sweet with the striped line too!
