Duration of Hatch for Veils

Vargas Sep 28, 2003 07:27 PM

Hi,
I have 32 Veiled Chameleon eggs. Two hatched 4 days ago and then so far none of the others have hatched. I was curious, is this common? Is the frequency of which eggs hatch from the same clutch this spread out usually or is this a potential sign of trouble? According to my calendar the 2 are about 2 weeks early.
I am hopeful the rest will hatch as the 2 babies are doing well and the remaining eggs seem to be fine - just no action yet.
Any help appreciated
Thanks Steve

Yes, this is normal. Chameleon eggs will often hatch over a large span of time, often weeks or even more than a month! The rule with chameleon eggs is unless you are 100% sure they are dead (shriveled up and moldy) don't throw them out. If you have any doubt in your mind, don't throw them out, chameleon eggs are natorious for hatching way after they are due. Hope this helps, good luck!
