2 charged in Alabama with keeping alligators
ABBEVILLE, Ala. (AP) — State conservation officials say two Henry County men are charged with the illegal possession of two live alligators.
State Conservation Enforcement Officer Stacy Lush says he charged 40-year-old James Darrell Bryson of Headland and 32-year-old Joseph Thomas Bolt of Abbeville with a state alligator protection violation.
Lush says the two were keeping the alligators in an aquarium. He says he seized the alligators and released them into an area creek.
Lush says the men were charged with a misdemeanor because the alligators were not harmed. He says they face fines of up to $500 if they're convicted.
