Hi,
Is it critical for all BW Argentine Tegu to have a chance to Hibernate even if they are not being used for breeding?
I have a baby that is intended to stay as a solo pet. I imagine it is likely that he will be hibernating but I am curious if the heat stays up, basking temps normal and the animal is kept indoors will it possibly not hibernate? I experienced this with a Russian Tortoises where with out the outside signals, he never hibernated. With the Russian torts it was considered normal practice but, I have a feeling with Tegu this will be more complicated? Any light on this subject very appreciated.
Thanks Steve
