7 eggs. Found them on my lunch break and got them set up in an incubator real quick. Back at the office now. don't know if they're good or not; first kingsnake breeding after all, and I didn't have time to candle them (if it's that or get them set up, I'll get them set up). Did get one quick pic, uploaded it back at the office

she's much thinner again. From the one I'd thought was a false alarm

Congrats!.....I knew you would get eggs.....LOL

How many days after her shed did she lay???

Now feed the heck out of her!
Eggs look like they are good....I would wait to candle them in about a week......Then leave them alone until they hatch.....

close to 15...I'd have to go check my records at home to be sure...next year I'm going to try something different nest boxes, to see if they're more to her liking. maybe she'll lay sooner. I'd been thawing mice for other snakes...pulled two for her and she slammed 'em.

I'm stoked cause this balances out my house snake that laid 3 bad duds, 2 really tiny brittle ones and one that was gigantic, smelled like crap and had black splotches.

Looks good! Did you put the nest box in early on or close to when she was near laying? Good luck with them.

Personally...I would forget the "box" idea and go with turning a part of their enclosure into a nesting area......15 days plus the days prior to her shed that she did not eat is a long time for not eating.....When the nesting area is to their liking they will lay as early as 1 day after shedding, but I have only seen a few of mine lay 4 days after shedding......most around 7.....

Congrats again.....I hope you get to see kingsnake eggs pipping in a couple months.

thanks. That's what I think I'll try next year.
I had the box in when she went into blue for her prey lay

Now these should hatch when I'm at my brother's wedding...damn the timing I guess! LOL.

Yeah either do waht John said, or put the box in way earlier. I try to have a moist box in all year round. That way they get very used to it and always choose it to lay their eggs. I like John's ideah, it's just a bit too messy for me.

Looks like they are good fertile eggs from the pic. Congrats.

I think its the picture that makes them look off colored. Too warm (the photo, that is), but I'm pretty sure those eggs are good from my limited experience. Congrats.

they were also sticky. Like, not all together, but in 2 groups. They pulled apart under their own weight though (if they'd stuck I'd have left them clumped in the incubator).

After looking again the eggs look good to me still but the vermiculite looks a little too wet....Just my opinion though.....

I kind of wondered. Everything I'd read said it should still maintain it's shape fairly well (with aybe some crumbling) when squeezed, but not still have water coming out when squeezed, so that's what I went for but it does look fairly wet and I'm a bit nervous.

Nothing to be nervous about. I've seen eggs swell up with too much water and hatch fine. It isn't the ideal situation though. Just fix it when you get home. Add a little bit of dry vermic and mix it well. Moisture is what you want not wet.
