I want one. Been thinking about getting one just for kicks and goiggles. Something I don't work with but would be nice to have anyway.

I agree with the concensus. She is beautiful. The black and white seem so crisp.

Thanks Dennis...
I should post an updated picture of her Double Het / Possible Triple Het keepers I held back. The female has the cleanest pattern I have ever seen on a Splendida.....

Well then that settles it, John. We are hereby all in favor of your snake. We love her and she's beautiful. I would personally like to see the rest of her. Can I please get a second on that motion?

Wow that's a perfect picture, John. I really like those axanthic splendidas, and I'm not a splendida fan.

Thanks Jorge.....
I guess the main reason I like them is the fact that I live within their range and have seen many in the wild...and kept a few as pets over the years.....
Plus they have some cool morphs....Trying to produce some Ghosts soon.......Don Shores should have some this year......

Yeah, that's the same as me with the Specks. I grew up catching them in New Orleans as a kid, so they have a special place in my life. I may have to get some of those Axanthics one day though.

So a Ghost has not been produced yet?
Hey what i really like about the axantic speckled is the clean black and white colors. Reminds me of the new Jersy easterns i used to see in field guide books as a kid.
Do the axanthics vary with how clean they are? Do some blend more gray? Or do some have tinges of yellow? Help me pick out a super nice one at daytona this year.

Don got a ghost splendida given to him last year in Daytona, but I think it has some california influence.....I don't think any from Don's pure splendida line has produced any but I believe Don should this year....He can speak to this better than I....
Also....
There are two different axanthics phenotypes. One is a bluish gray and the other is white like the female I have. None have any tinges of yellow at all....They are truly axanthic not just white splendida like some of the ones found in West Texas.
BUT.....When you breed the two together some come out bluish gray and the others come out white....So the gene is compatible somewhat. Maybe they are co dominant with each other.....I am not sure what to call that type of trait....
Don isn't doing the Daytona show this year, but someone else may have some.........I believe most of them all originated with Don's line...same goes for the amels......
BTW.....we are getting the striped gene mixed into these lines next year..........I think a striped hypo or a striped ghost would look killer......maybe even a striped amel and snow......
Cya in Daytona old man.....LOL

so the hypo splendida came from Calif influence?
do you think the bluish axanthic came from Florida influence?
That would make the black and white axanthic like you have the only true axanthic in splendida. Cause there is no axanthic like that in Calif kings and the anery in floridana is dirty even though babies come out a clean Black and white. As they grow they dirty up and don't have the disticnt Black and white sepration that yours do.

No all of the Hypo Splendida that Don has are NOT from California influence.
I don't believe the ghost that was given to Don was from Don's line......It looks like it has California influence.......I plan on making a ghost from Don's line.....and Don should this year, I think......
I don't think the bluish axanthic Splendida has any Floridana influence but they do remind me of the New England Axanthics in color.
There are a couple of Lavender Albino or T-Positive Splendida out there too. I thought about making an intergrade/hybrid one from my Lavender Holbrooki but decided not to. A guy in California has a nice Lavender Splendida that was suppposed to be sent to me on breeder loan last year but the guy backed out......
