Venom in Water monitors??

bloodpython171 Apr 07, 2011 12:29 PM

Along with the generally recent studies proving Komodo dragons venomous instead of pray dying from blood poisoning due to bacteria filled saliva. Has anyone done studies proving or disproving if this also applies to water monitors or not??

Any help or links are appreciated.

thanks,
Matt

I believe all varanids have those proteins. Usually it does no harm.

I read a couple stories about albigularis, griseus, niles, etc.. And even iguanas and bearded dragons.

Don't worry about it. But don't play with their mouths. Teeth on these guys can be really bad in human flesh.
