Buying Rodents

elidogs Apr 08, 2011 01:23 PM

I was buying frozen rodents from a local pet shop but they seemed to get annoyed that I would buy 20 mice a week. They were kind of rude about me wanting to buy them all the time. So I got ticked off and stopped doing business with them. Went to one of the big name pet stores for awhile they charge too much..so I ordered from one of main rodent suppliers by mail and I cut the cost of my food bill by around 50%. The quality of the rodents is just as good.

If you keep monitors you know they can eat alot more then most of the other reptiles you may have ..so its a good idea to shop online for their prey items.

Hey, thanks! I will have to tell my friend that.... He has a BT and been buying rodents from the local pet store, and feeding him ground turkey here and there with vitamins and calicum added.

Do you breed your own rodents? Thats probably the cheapest way.

No, I don't breed them. I don't have anything that eat that many rodents. And my friend only has one BT. [chuckle] But I will tell him....

My girlfriend breeds rats (on a small scale), & if you've ever checked out the prices on the RodentPro site advertised at the top of the page, those are very cheap compared to what we spend on bringing up rats. I'm actually thinking about ordering from there because we can't keep enough pinkies around to feed my baby(ish) Nile.
Have any of you had any experience with that RodentPro place?
