NY laws about Constrictors ?

Bobby_Wheels Apr 10, 2011 08:03 PM

I was told that NY has just revised the list of acceptable constrictors. I've been looking on the web everywhere and can't find an updated site. Anyone know where to look? I'm going to have BRB babies in a few months and need to know if they're on it.
Thanks,
Wheels

I am not sure about NY, but I don't think Florida, or any of the proposed federal laws stipulate the genus Epricrates on their lists. Mainly species from the the genera Python and Boa. So BRBs are probably safe for now. I would also bet NY is modifying their list based on that goofy Animal Planet show where this guy was searching the subways and Central Park looking for suitable large snake den sites and habitat and speculating that these snakes could survive and breed in those areas. Very dramatic and EXTREMELY hypothetical.
