Albino white sided?

varanid Apr 10, 2011 08:29 PM

I've seen lots of stuff mixed into white sided florida kingsnakes. But never albinos. Is there a reason that it hasn't been mixed in? I like both morphs and wouldn't mind mixing them; I have a small albino female I'm raising up that might breed next year and I've got a WS male...wouldn't mind taking a couple three years to make 'em. THe other possible pairing is my axanthic--axanthic albino for DHs or WS-albino for DH for those.

Has anyone seen the result of this, and have any pictures of double homozygous for these?

If By "Albino" you mean T Positive/Lavender it has been done.

If you mean Amelanistic T- it has not been accomplished as yet but i know two people that have 2x hets.

Yeah I mean T-pos I don't have t-negs right now (plan to in a year or so). That's a neat looking snake you have there!

Zenny you capture the colors so well. I wish I could get better reproduction of color with my pics. Having said that I think white sided on a mostly white or light colored animal is not as dramatic as something darker with WS. I realize each one is a step into another morph so they are all very desirable.

I just really like the background color in the albinos; sort of a nice soft pink So something that gets more of it is interesting to me.

I can see that. Your right, they do look nice. I just think the darker snakes with ws are more contrasting, but I see your point.

I agree!

The Axanthic-WS is still my Fav of the WS 2x HomoZ

Here's another WS-Lav... older... much less color than the 1st on posted... the male i have looks different as well... much more contrast.
