Question about Amir.

kingofspades Apr 10, 2011 10:16 PM

Who is this Amir person?
I've only been in the hobby for about 7 years. Heard the name, seen some of his stuff, but don't know any details about him.

I've read some stuff about him, but not much.

I was just curious.
Is he still in the business? Does he pop out of hiding, sell a few snakes and vanish back into his snake lab for a couple years? (Haha)

Amir doesn't do Internet sales so that's why you probably don't know to much about him. He's got a retail store and I've seen him at some of the bigger shows. He's responsible for proving some really neat morphs and he mainly works with co-doms. He is still in business that's for sure!

That's why I asked. I've seen so many "first proven by Amir" and I'm like "Who?"

I met Amir for the first time in the 90s when he opened a store, Snakes at Sunset, here in Miami; cool guy. Actually I think I was his first customer. When I started breeding balls I he used to buy my babies and I remember him telling me I should get a few pastels and start breeding morphs (I only had normals). He opened a second store in the Cutler Ridge area and then sold the original one (The current owner, Mike, is a member of this Forum). Amir still has that store. He always goes to the Daytona Show. I have bought a few animals from him. Amir has produced quite a few "firsts"

Amir has many firsts. His citrus pastels have been around a while. They were always nice pastels. Now that more supers and super combos are being produced, the true potential of the citrus is starting to show. He is now calling them citrus whiteouts to reflect these new results. Some of the babies are white as hatchlings and then quickly develop yellow color.

Hatchlings. 3 Super Citrus Pastel Calicos and Super Citrus Pastel

Super Citrus Pastel Calico at 400gr

Super Citrus Pastel (possibly super citrus?)
