Female fights back alot on attempted mating?

guadofreak Sep 28, 2003 09:28 PM

Is that normal? Spanky(F) keeps getting into fights w/ Buckwheat(M) when he gets all mating happy. Is that normal? Should I worry that they will draw blood? He backs down after a few nips. there has been no blood or anything. She must be a "lady"so proud of her, well not realy since I want more hypo carrot tails!)

Alfalfa(F) let him mate w/ her within 5 minutes of meeting him(she's a little loose i guess) :P

Thats really common in my experience. Specially during times of the year when females are usually recovering or building fat reserves for the mating season. She might give in if he is persistent but she might not. I would keep a close watch on them. If she doesn't get into the "mood". Give her a month or so and try again.

The male is always in there now. Is that a bad thing? They get along at all other times except when his tails starts wagging like a mad man!
