One of my 09 pyros, Zafina, doing her best to get big enough to mate next year. She is an eating machine, more like a bull snake than even my bull snakes. There are four fuzzies in this jar; she has one in her mouth and the others firmly clamped or pressed in place.
Earlier I tried to give her a small almost weanling but she held out for the fuzzies, which she relishes.

Bob, If she keeps eating like that she sure looks to be of good weight for next spring. Believe it or not, I have a ten year old L.p.knoblochi that will only eat fuzzies and she is all of 4' . 5-7 fuzzies at a time. Quite expensive to feed but she's well worth every penny. She gave me 20 offspring last year. So it probably isn't to uncommon for L.p.p and L.p.k. to be fuzzy eaters for life.
Oh almost forgot I have a L.p.p. that only eats peach fuzzies too.. and she's 6.

I raise my own mice so feeding the snakes fuzzies is not a problem. The almost weanling was rejected by one of my pits, who is just not hungry at this time. Zafina looked at it like "You expect me to eat this great big thing?! Think again!" LOL! Most of my pyros will only eat fuzzies to large crawlers.

A couple smaller prey items would do the snake better than one big one anyhow. Give em what they like, that's what I say.

Zafina's sister Zuni last summer. She is smaller than Zafina by almost half, but is still a good eater, But Zafina seems to think she is a bull snake! LOL! I don't argue with these creatures; they want fuzzies or pinks that's what they get.
