Hi everybody!!

Hi guys, my name is Daniel and I´m from Brasil (oi Flavia!!)
I´m new here and I would love to be part of this wonderfull forum!! I have 3 lovely adults females and one very mean adult male, this one is about 6 foot long. Well, saturday a friend of mine gave me two tiny little babies, one male and one female and they are gorgeous!! I´m a little worried cuz they haven´t eaten yet, but I guess its normal since they aren´t acclimated to their new home. I also have 2 beardies and one leo gecko and 8 tarantulas.
Well, that´s it by now, hope I can help and be helped here.
Talk to ya later,
Dan
Daniel

ps, assuming i translated that right, lol, it is normal for igs especially when ya first move them to not eat for a day, a few days, even a few weeks. but make sure they stay hydrated and keep offering rich greens and veggies

I believe a pleco is a fish plecostomas (sp) bottom or side dwelling algae eating (ugly lol no offense) fish that get quite large...as for intros Hi I am Lyn and I have 4 igs 1 male and 3 females... the girls share a cage and the male has his own palace... I also have 2 dogs (will eventually be 3) 2 cats 1 rabbit, 2 leopard geckos, 1 tarantula, 1 hamster, 1 gerbil, and 4 goldfish...not to mention 7 biological children and a hubby of almost 21 yrs. Welcome to this group!!! Lyn

They're technically catfish, and although the common pleco can reach 18 inches, there are other kinds that stay smaller.
They do love their algae.

Signed, a catfish fan

Plecos are, besdies being my favorite fish, often called algae eaters or suckerfish. they get to different sized-i have a 14" in a 150gallon aquarium, but others such as the bristlenose pleco or zebra pleco get only a few inches long, and otocinoculous (spelling??) aka Otos rarly top 1.5in

the small brown plecos you normally buy as "plecos" are the types that can top 2' long

Hi Sarahdele!! Yes you translated that right!! And thanks for the info.. BTW what´s MBD?? I figured out it is a health problem but that´s all I know...
Anyways, thanks again.
Later,
Dan

Hi sorry, MBD is metabolic bone disease which is very preventable-and very common- in reptiles.

Its a severe calcium defeciency (sp?) caused by no natural or UVB lighting, a wrong diet (ie, dog food
