Stolen python returned to Roanoke County pet store
ROANOKE COUNTY, VA --

Roanoke County Police find a stolen snake during an unrelated investigation.

The ball python was taken from Nature's Emporum last month.

The store's manager, Summer Sowers tells us, it happened after one of her workers finished giving the snake a bath.

"She had put it back in to the tank. About two-and-a-half hours later, she realized the snake had gone missing," Sowers said. "We thought she had maybe forgot to put the snake back into the tank."

After looking at survelliance video, Somers realized a man had run off with the snake.

According to a search warrant, Roanoke County police responded to a domestic dispute off of Knoll Road in Roanoke County. The woman victim then led police inside to find the missing snake on the kitchen table.

The manager tells us she didn't believe police found the snake, when she received the call.

But now Sowers says, "I'm very relieved that he was taken care of while he was gone. And I'm relieved that he's back in his habitat."

The case remains still under investigation. No charges have been filed at this time.
