Can These Eggs Be Saved?

jwmetz Apr 17, 2011 04:34 PM

All eggs have a bright lime green coloring on them. Any thoughts!

Candle them with a pen light in a dark room. You don't have to move them just turn off the lights, and place the pen light directly on the side of each egg. if you don't see any viens spreading under the shell, then they are probably bad. But check each one to be sure. Oh if they are freshly laid they will not have viens yet, but if you say they are green then I doubt they are fresh?

I have a strong feeling that those eggs were all infertile and are simply going bad. But you have nothing to loose and everything to gain if you candle them like Jorge suggested after about a week after they were laid to see if there are any viable blood vessels forming on the inside of the egg walls. If they are infertile you won't see any at all.
