I have had her/him for several years. When i bought it I was told it was female. But i keep looking at the tail and it is screaming male to me. So I just want your opinions.

Thanks

That is a long tail for a female, I think it's a male to. I have had a few females with longer tail than normal and even some with big spurs. But the only sure way to know is to have it probed.
Take care

I'd be more likely to guess male on that one. As Tom said you'll have to probe it.
Although I've probed Adult Boas as male when they are clearly fem Boas. Because in the past somebody who didn't know how to probe
jammed the probe in too far puncturing the delicate flesh diaphragm inside the cloaca tail pocket.
Once that delicate skin diaphragm is punctured a fem will always probe male.
Each side of the tail has a delicate skin diaphragm sometimes only one side is punctured.
So always be careful when probing , make sure you know what you are doing.

Probing is the only way to have a better idea. Plus as large as that animal is, if it's a male you should have found some semen plugs lay in or around his water bowl. Could very well be a female, but probing will give a better idea.

The prob with probing is I am not confident to do it to myself and the snake is not very cooperative that is for sure.
Are the plugs easy to see on the aspen...when i was keeping it on paper I swore i did see plugs.
i dont plan on doing any breeding so its really not that important to me was just curious
Thanks

Sperm plugs are white, if out of water they dry up mostly into slimey - rubbery white snot trails.
In water they kinda look like lace, this ones from a BRB.....
