Kerby's striped hyper Cal kings

RossCA Apr 19, 2011 10:01 AM

Wasn't sure if you were still viewing that thread, so I decided to post this here. What's the Cal king on the bottom right? A unicolor? It looks like it has speckles on it in that picture. Any closer shots of it? Nice looking snakes, BTW.

It is a pure chocolate cal king, no specks.

Here is an adult. They come from my Blizzard line.

They are definitely brown and sometimes you can see a pattern in them, just like Blizzards. This one is also het albino.

Those are very nice, Kerby. Do you know where/how those were started? Are they from selective breeding or a natural trait? Recessive?

Davis "black bellies", Mendotas, Baja are all the same hypermelanistic gene.

They have been produced before me obviously, but I started to pop them out of my Blizzard line a few years ago.

All hypermelanistics in this clutch with varying patterns.

Nice kings, Kerby. I like that one with the faint bands. I suspect the "Whittier" and "Striped Mud" morphs from L.A. Co. are also compatible with that gene.

Yes, they look the same.
