I've been following, with interest, the efforts of Nathan Winograd and associated organizations, No-Kill Advocacy Center and No-Kill Nation, to implement the Companion Animal Protection Act (CAPA), which seeks to end the rampant slaughter of animals in our nation's animal shelters -- truly a regime change from the status quo. This effort is, or was, opposed by every national so-called humane society, including HSUS, ASPCA, AHA, NACA and Best Friends but, in my opinion, they are winning against all the odds and with relatively little money. Here's a link to their latest blow against the giants: Harnessing the Power of Our Democracy.
While the purpose of CAPA has almost nothing to do with our fight, it's proponents have a grass-roots strategy that seems to be very effective at defeating some of the same enemies we face in our struggle to maintain our freedom to keep and breed reptiles. Please visit the above link -- it's a very interesting read.
