, I met up with an old herping buddy from high school who wants to hook up with us next month. He plays a mean sax and the snakes all come out from under the rock to listen.
Here is a picture of him from back in the 60's

He played with Jimi at Woodstock....I can't wait

PS: 250mg per kilo right...I'll ask the pharmacist at work tomorrow to do the math

250 mg per kilo,??? you see what mg / per cc is IN the bottle you use, then weigh snake and do the math......
if bottle is 250 mg /per cc, then you use one cc per kilo of snake weight.....for the 250 you wanted....if bottle is 500 mg per cc, you use half a cc per kilo....read bottle....

...see.....

Yikes!! Tell that guy to stay at home. LOL. Give me a call Doug. Where did you get 250? Too much. 50 mg per kg is what we had talked about. Oh, and did I say leave that guy at home?

The PILLS themselves are 250 mg. To make it easy for you, 50 mg/kg of body weight for a 300 gram snake = 1/16th of a 250 mg. pill you have there. If you crush an entire pill into powder, then cut it into 16 equal "lines"..LOL!, one "line" would be a dose for a 300 gram snake. Just weigh it and equate what percentage yours is from the 300 gram example I gave, and there you have it.

The Panacur(de-wormer) is given at the rate of 50 to 100 mg/kg body of weight.

That snake looks to be around maybe 50 grams or so by the pennies there, so if it is say 50 grams, you would then split one of those 16 equal lines of the pill into roughly 6 equal parts, one of which would be the dose for a 50 gram snake.

Yo Doug M.
Lines? Ok 1/6 of 1/6 snorted in a rolled up dollar bill.
I better wait till I had my second cup of coffee and read this again.

"Yo Doug M.

Yes, but if you want to look like Mr."BIG-MAN" in front of everyone, then you should use a $100 bill..LMAO!!!..

Anyway.....NO!!!!!!, that is 1/6th of ONE of the 16 equal lines you made from the entire pill!!. But that is only if it weighs approx 50 grams..LOL!

Flagyl is fairly "forgiving" and reptile friendly if it isn't EXACTLY on the money. But you had still better chug some coffee and wake up good to make sure it is the right dose before giving it to the snake..LOL!

Yo Doug M. Very good way to do it!! I have diluted the pills into 2.5 cc's of water and used them that way.(given by mouth through a tubed syringe) As you know, panacur is pretty safe ,but the flagyl can be toxic to tri-colors if overdosed just a bit. Doug L. ---Please bring her along, she looks like she could be a good herper. I have room in my tent!! LOL.

Yes, I certainly agree there Joe. You definitely don't want to over-do Flagyl on tricolors. Your way would work fine too. I wish the stuff disolved better, but it doesn't matter too much since I shake it up real well just before drawing it up real fast in the syringe and administering. I use a little shot glass to mix it in, then immediately draw it up..LOL!

Long time no speak.....say, some people swear by baby food as a good fattener, but I also think the Flagyl is a good course of action barring any other issues. Best of luck with this.
