More zonata activity . . . . .

JKruse Apr 21, 2011 07:27 PM

Everyone is breeding up a storm these days! From St. Helenas, to northern Cali Cascades, to parvirubra, to various Coastals.......every female is gravid at this point except for agalma & pulchra which are in full shed at the moment. What a great time of year.

Hetero & anery/axanthic Sierras . . .

Love the nape biting action . . .

recent Coastal lovin' . . .

Cascade lovin' (Siskiyou)

Hope everyone is enjoying this part of the season as much as I am!

Poor planning and procrastination on your part does not constitute an emergency on my part...

Particularly like the Black and White animals.

Jerry, They are just simply awesome!!!! Back in the dark ages, when you could sell the critters, I worked in a Pet/Reptile Store. The more red a Zonata had, the more $$$ we could get for it!!!! San Diego forms were most expensive!! Interesting how folks (including me!!) react to Sierra forms now!!! I guess it's always what is less commonly seen!!!

Thanks much again.

POCooney, I believe all snakes are valuable in more ways than one, not just zonata alone. These happen to be a personal passion of mine. Whether it be more red, or orange, or none at all.......it's the behaviors, the habitats, even the very state most of them come from (which is my home state of California) just intrigue me. Always have, always will. Zonata require more finesse to care for and have captive requirements that are not "cookie-cutter".....I'm up to callenges as well, and often times it doesn't get more challenging than trying to get a neonate zonata feeding on their own. It's work, but it's fun work. Thanks for the kind words.
