Haven't gotten an update recently, is he eating on his own yet?
Well...let's see....
Zoe is doing "okay". He's okay in the sense that he's alive, and looks nice and healthy.
But, he still hasn't started eating or drinking on his own.
He had those couple days when I thought he was going to start...then nothing.
So, I'm still feeding him. I've given up trying to force crickets down his throat, and have been using repti-aide.
He's just like a baby bird...he sits on my lap, with his head up, waiting for his breakfast (or dinner).
I'm beginning to think that this is what life with Zoe has become.
I'm not complaining about it...I don't REALLY mind. I'm just concerned about if for some reason, some day I CAN'T do it, or if we want to go away or something....I don't know what I'll do with him.
I was thinking about it last night...and I was imaginging myself tucking Zoe into my purse, and smuggling him into a hotel room or where ever I might be. Some woman don't leave home without their make-up...me...I don't leave home without my lizard.
I'm getting a little perturbed with my dad...I'm still waiting for Zoes new cage. It's done, and ready to go...He just needs to get some spare time to get it here.
I'm hoping that maybe once he's in his new enviorment, and concentrating less on getting OUT, maybe he'll start paying more attention to finding his own prey. HOPEFULLY....
So...other than that...really, I think he's doing okay.
Thanks for asking about my little man though!

Kim-
I know you have tried just about everything with Zoe, so you may have already tried this or not! Use a large (tall) ficus tree and put him on it outside of his cage. If you can put him outside on the tree (keep an eye on him for birds) use a feeding cup and place a few food items in it, he may not like being in his cage and wont eat in it. See if he will eat on his own this way. If not then try it with out the feeding cup and place a few worms (silkworms if you have them) in the tree and see if he will go for them. Just a thought!
