First litter ever!

Amp Apr 24, 2011 11:59 PM

First litter ever! 2 stills, 0 slugs, 2 deformed but alive (for now), and 17 healthy looking babies. Happy Freakin' Easter everyone. I couldn't have asked for better Easter eggs.

One of the deformed ones, no eyes, extreme underbite:

Bloody albino #1

Bloddy albino #2 (maybe the worlds first bloody sunglow, have to wait until it sheds)

Mom is doing great, passed all of her eggs. Sitting in a clean set-up and about to eat a well deserved rat. Thanks everyone for the help you've given me with breeding tips, neonate care, mother care, and everything else. You guys rule!

Thanks for the compliments on them. The parents came from John Martino. I believe you have their siblings at your facility.

Spectacular litter my friend, Congratulations!

lucasmatlock Apr 25, 2011 02:51 PM

Am i the only one that noticed there are no bloods in this litter? Is that strange?

mdc Apr 25, 2011 04:16 PM

I see two bloods. He just got lucky that they are both albinos as well.

Matt

LucasMatlock Apr 25, 2011 04:54 PM

You are most definitely correct about albino bloods but no "normal" bloods is strange out of 17 babies. This is a fantastic litter but that is was we get when breading boas. He hit exactly what you would think on 1/8 animal out of 17 babies but 1/4 "should" have been bloods. BELIEVE me i am not taking anything away from this litter i am very happy for Anthony!

mdc Apr 25, 2011 04:58 PM

I know. I was just joking around. We don't always get what we expect, but I think Anthony got pretty lucky on the odds. Great job Anthony.

Amp Apr 26, 2011 01:48 AM

In the lower right corner you can see one of them. I think the other 2 were in a different part of the tub during the photo. They are more on the brown side than the red side. I think because these have bci influence in them they are not as dark as pure C.A. bloods. I believe I have 2 light bloody salmons and one blood. I'll know for sure after they shed. I'll post more pics at that time too.

Anthony,

Most people posting first litter ever show photos of normals, or maybe some albinos, but I was totally surprised when I saw what you had produced.

Congratulations and good luck with all of the babies.

I can't wait to see he post shed photos.
