feeding enough?

wbcrows Apr 25, 2011 12:50 PM

I have a new 2010 mojave male, i've been feeding him weekly one fuzzy which he attacks, I'm starting to think maybe I should be giving him a little more? In between feeding this week I offered a peach fuzy and it dove on it. I don't want ot over feed him but I don't want him starving either. New to BP's use d to floridian kings which almost eat nonstop.

Are you feeding mice or rats? If it’s mice you’re definitely under feeding him…Hatchlings can be started on hopper mice and move up to reg. mice very quickly.

How much does he weigh?

unless they are a serious runt, i feed all my newborns full grown mice and after 2 or 3 weeks of that, quickly switch them to rat pups, and small rats by 3 to 4 months of age.

your 2010 should be eating small rats, offered weekly. you are very much underfeeding him if all he is getting is a pup.

Switch from every 7 days to every 5 days. Won't hurt him.
