Cochran Fire!

a153fish Apr 29, 2011 02:17 PM

This guy was from Jeff Cochran. I've been wanting to post pics of him but quite honestly I can't get the pics to recreate his true colors. This is one of the better pics I could get. His mate is soon to lay eggs. She is a Snow, het for Diffused. Should get a nice bunch of bablies. Thanks again Jeff, I may double clutch her with my Sunkissed male?

Thanks Jeff! By the way that is just a temperary holding tub, till the female lays her eggs, and/or I decide if I'll put them back together or use my Sunkissed for a second clutch.

Jorge, If you put a different male in with her to double clutch what if she retain some sperm from the first male, won't that compromise the cluch you would not know what male did what. Just asking.

That is actually part of the reason I ant to do it. The first male is a Fire het Anery. The female is a Snow het Diffused. All the babies will be either Amel or Snow with combinations, and hets. The Sunkissed is not het for anything, so none of the second clutch should be Amel at all. If any sperm is retained from the first male it will be obvious. I have always wanted to know how much could or would be from the first male in a situation like this. It will be fun to see whay happens. Of course my results won't mean that this is what will always happen, but maybe if we get enough people to do this we can get a better ideah. The pairings have to be similar to where ther is no doubt which father produced which offspring. Should be fun!
