i was keeping a snowxluecistic dragon with a sunburst female and he is only 10 months old but she is 13 months (i hope she can withstand it). she is a big girl and is eating all the vitamins and calcium i give her on her crix. im going to take these gems to daytona in august if everything goes as planned. i already have some normalxpastel eggs in my inc. will all the dragons be healthy even though the male was so young.?

It never hurts males to breed, even early....the one you have to worry about is your female.....she is young too......feed her very well like you have been doing and give her calcium daily.

i do. i never saw any breeding behaviors by that male i just kept them together because of lack of space. i did see him bob for the first time then i came back the next day and seperated them. then a couple days ago i felt her belly and it was full. i am worried about her but i think she will make it. she is extremly healthy like all of my dragons

I have read here on the forums, a long time ago that someone had problems with their male, and from what I gathered it was from this young male trying to mate. I believe it was a prolapse, where his hemipenis remained out. I can see how this could be an issue if everything is not fully developed. I used to think the same, that young males would be fine, but after reading about that some I think that it can be just as important to wait till the male is old enough as well. Chris Allen

I didn't think of that Chris....have heard of it happening but have never had it happen to one of mine as of yet.....thanks for the reminder.
