bringing snakes from canada to u.s.a.

i live very close to the canadian border and not far from a breeder that has awesome animals. i have been thinking about driing up and buying a few. does anyone know the proper way to cross back with animals?
i have emailed the us fws and have yet to recieve an answer but it hasnt been long yet. any tips would be nice.

you have to import them just as if they were coming from africa. they have to be shipped on an airline, with cites paperwork and import documents, you have to set up advance appoinments with US fish and wildlife and customs and pay both their fees as well as have an import/export license or have somebody do it for you that is licensed. and they have to come into a port of entry. that is the only legal way to do it.

you can however request an exception to port entry, and request the FWS to come to your closest port/airport....but you will pay an exception fee and the cost of the FWS inspectors labor/overtime costs.
