I'm working with them but haven't produced any offspring yet.

Hey John,

Thanks for the reply. Were the original animals wc? If so, how did they acclimate?

Thanks,
Jay

Jay:
They are cb. The founders for this line were, I believe, from Sandusky OH. I couldn't tell you how many generations ago that was. But they're very cool critters.
What are you interested in?

Regards
John

John,
If they're the animals you got from me, they're from the Toledo area, parents are unrelated, their parents were collected in the early 90's.

I should have checked my cards for the locale. I guess I was thinking of an adult male I had from Sandusky. I've got a couple of amateur pictures of one of them on the Kingsnake Photo gallery under jfirneno. Tell me what you think of how one of your kids is looking.
Best regards
John

Eastern fox snakes are a listed species in MI, Ontario, and Oh, I believe, and I think that's their whole range. So, not much material making it into collections anymore. Most likely you will only find CH, and those are produced by only a few people. I've seen many fox snakes because they are in the same habitat as the Butler's garter snake which I've been studying my whole life, on and off. I've kept gloydi a few times, last time with a permit, and CH offspring are easier to work with than w/c. Fox snakes are somewhat inbetween a Pituophis and a Pantherophis (Elaphe) in behavior and ecology. They are cool, and beautiful animals, but remember that they are a northern species, and don't do too well in real hot climates.
