Mating Issues....

jondrawdy May 05, 2011 06:05 PM

....i'm sure this is an easy thing to answer. Has anyone ever had blood spoting on substrate when pythons are mating. It was a good solid lock-up. I'm just curious if this is an issue or if it is a normal occurence. There just seemed to be small trickle spots where there tails were. I do not know if she took or not.

I know that the skin there can tear when shedding. But not sure about while breeding. Thanks in advance guys.

I've had the cage look like someone murdered them...in corn cages...but never balls...spotting is ok.....balls breed for like...9 hours usually.....slow and steady...no blood here for balls....usually not for anything...BUT as said...it won't kill them 99.99 % of the time....

Spotting? Never.
Smears; almost every time.

I have had blood in the mating cages. Especially with an old (NORMAL)male that seems to be VERY aggressive sexually. Last time he bred a pastel female she had scratches around her vent (from his spurs i guess). Se has already had her pre-lay shed.
