Hoggie wont eat.

calebjg May 05, 2011 06:10 PM

So ive had this adult 2yo male hog three weeks. He was supposedly fed a few days before I got him..I waited two weeks and offered a small thawed hopper and he didnt take it.Today I gave him a live mouse, it was very small but IDK maybe it was too intimidating for him.Any suggestions?

Got him in a 20gal on eco/sand mix with hides and a 90 degree hot spot.

What's your ambient temp? They need at least 80 or they may shut down..Up the hot spot a few degrees too. Mike

They can be a little picky. He may just need some more time to settle in.

Also, it doesn't look like you did this, but sometimes it will turn the snakes off to eating if you were to offer a fasting snake food every couple of days. You could try every week or every other week and once he's ready he'll pounce on it.
