It seems I have the best GenStripe ever.

RyanT May 08, 2011 01:21 AM

I snagged this 700 gram girl in a trade with a buddy a few weeks ago. I wasn't all that familiar with Genetic Stripes before she came along and she is somehow the first Recessive I've ever owned. Now, after doing some research, it seems she may be the nicest GStripe of all time.

She actually gets a few shades more golden than this, and these are from my phone camera, but the best way to describe her is that she comes across looking like a Fire Genetic Stripe. From the dozens and dozens of pics I've dug up, I haven't come across one that's as light as her with such a perfect, bold stripe. Needless to say, I'm pretty excited to work with her.

I'm being facetious about her being the best EVER, but seriously, have you ever seen a nicer one?

It is one of the nicest I've ever seen and I've seen quite a few. I also own a couple and should produce some stripes and pastel stripes this season.

If I were able, there is only one thing I'd change about your animal. I'd make sides totally patternless. Please don't take it badly, the animal is stunning. She's bound to produce some nice offspring for you.

Yeah, you're absolutely right. I guess her sides disqualify her from a "Perfect" title. But I'll take her coloration and stripe over clear sides.

Thanks, Jeff. No offense taken whatsoever...Ever.

Great g.stripe

Here is one of mine, she was locked with a pastel g.stripe for her first clutch (4 eggs). I hope some of the babies have her look with pastel in it.
The stripe isn't perfect, but quite good, she is nearly patternless on some place. Quite gold in colors too.

Nice! The flames enhance it, lighter color too. The "classic" G-Stripe is pretty boring.
