just wanted to share a little trip close to home. I went to this little canyon where there's some graging going on. It was about nine o clock in the morning, the sun was making the dried grasses shine. I thought I could spot a snake shining the same way. But didn't see anything, then I just happen to look down in a burrow entrance. Then came the rush of finding a fat Ruber, I thought it was gravid, but i don't think it was. Didn't have a hook or anything just a broken grading stick. It took awhile to finally dig it out from it's hole. But it was beautiful, hissing and striking the whole time,I'd like to meet the guy that says rubers are mild mannered HA'! This one was never told. I wish I had a camera to share it with you, sorry. I guess I learned I could have an awsome herping trip in my own back yard, I always thought I had to travel long distances, not true. Hope you guys enjoyed my experience.
Dave
