second litter sort off

JPCONS May 08, 2011 05:22 PM

Well this just adds to the weirdness of my season. After 3 litters of slugs had a good litter 21 Saturday and then this. I went down to check on the animals and saw my girl just giving birth. One live fully developed boa and then this on day 111 pos

Surprising she went full term with 28 slugs 3 fully developed babies with 2 albinos. Usually they drop 20 days early and the 3 lives would have been premis. I am happy to get the 3 live babies the way the seasons been going.

The one thing I noticed with this girl going full term is she went off food before ovulation. So she hasn't eaten in over 5 months. I don't know if this has anything to do with it or not,but I wonder if the other full term slugs ate or not??

As far as bloodline the father was a calico and mom was a hypo het albino. She was just so clean and clorful I had to have her.

Congrats on the three baby's , it is odd she went full term with that many slugs , my sharp girl had a prem litter about a month ago , she had 11 slugs and 16 babies of which 12 where sharps and sunglows , but being that prem none made it

That really sucks. I think I would rather have slugs then premis.

I had the same thing happen to me earlier this year. 23 slugs, 3 live. And 2 were runts and died in the first 24 hrs. One live healthy baby. I know the feeling.
