WEIRD LOOKING EGGS

jmdexotics May 09, 2011 10:27 AM

miami albino phase breeding.
8 eggs looks oblong and i candled the eggs to look for veins and nothing, she layed 28 last year no problems.I just find it a little weird looks like two eggs in one.
Pics not that great but you can tell what i mean.

I wouldn't be too quick to count those eggs out. At least some of them look good and it may be a bit too soon for candling to show anything. Last year others had bizarre looking long eggs too.

I agree with Dennis, veins don't show right away. Also the shape won't hurt anything as long as the eggs are fertile. Try candling them in about 10 days. If any are rubbery you may want to remove them or leave them in just in case. Once you can see veins on some, and no veins on others you can be more sure. Good luck!

Yeah,Like Jorge said, the veins don't show for awhile!Usually, with mine anyway,if they're infertile the egg will glow a bright yellow when candled, with no veins of course.Sometimes those odd shaped eggs have big babies in them! Good luck!! Jeff

for veins to show. I just had a Florida king clutch and I started seeing veins at day 5. Not all the eggs were showing veins, and the ones I did see were barely visible.
