incubating temps?

ballfreak May 11, 2011 07:51 PM

my eggs are in my hovobator and they keep giving me a temp of 90-91 im trying to get it to 89 but cant seem to get it to do that. my question is do you think 91 is going to kill the eggs? thanks for any input.

you should be ok.....you can go from 87 to 92 plus...but people try for 89 to 90 MOST of the time....HovaBators....you got the new one with the electronic control?...not the wafer like the old ones......just opening the lid can bump them enough at times to change the temps a degree....tapping it can change the temp...up or down.....tap and open wisely....check it every day....the old wafers work better.......

I'm glad someone remembers how accurate the wafers are.

remember......I have some plugged in now...just threw 6 eggs from pastel het ghost to pin het ghost in one 10 minutes ago...that one is full....I have 3 with wafers and one new electronic one....the wafers work better....they are all in the basement on the cool side , past the mouse room.....

wafers...not just for iced cream anymore....

I've had eggs spike to 93 and come out fine.
