Advice for clutch/breeding.

T1tanrush May 13, 2011 11:57 PM

So after it snowing just last week, and hitting upper 30s again just yesterday, I managed to capture the first wild caught bull of the season today while visiting my girlfriends ranch, the owners of the property hated it and wanted me to take it, so I happily obliged. The bull turns out to be female, I have a 6.5 foot snow bullsnake that I've been keeping for awhile with the intent to breed him..

Is there any way of telling if she has bred with any other males so far this season or am I safe to say that she probably just came out of breeding so I can proceed and say they are 100% het snow? Any sort of advice would be awesome.

She probably hasn't bred yet if it is that cold. If you have her for a month or so and she shows no signs of being gravid then give the male a go and you can be sure that he will be the father. Females can retain sperm from the previous year though.
